My Hairdressing History:
I’m the owner and driving force behind The Hairdresser, since 2012. I make sure that all our clients share the same great experience when they visit our salon. I was trained under the renowned Anne Squires, and now have over 30 years in the New Zealand hair industry. This included a period working on the advisory bureau for L’Oreal.

What I enjoy about Hairdressing:
My passion is precision cutting - I am inspired by classic European hairstyles and fashion. It is important for me to create an individual hairstyle for you that you can replicate at home. After all, my motto is, 'if you look good, so do we!'

Specialty
I am an expert in precision cutting and complimenting it with new colour techniques. It is the architecture of angles and lines that makes the hair sit beautifully

My Hairdressing History:
I have 26 years of experience in the hair industry. I studied hairdressing in South Africa at one of the top International hairdressing companies, Carlton Hair. Through Carlton Hair, we trained using Vidal Sassoon methods.

Over the years, I have worked with Wella, Redken, Goldwell, Angel, Kerastase and L'Oréal professional. 

Previous work includes magazine photo shoots as well as Television presenters. Since coming to New Zealand I have continued my training by becoming a Blonde expert and continued my learning in advanced cutting.

What I enjoy about Hairdressing:
I enjoy interacting with clients and creating beautiful hair styles using different cutting and colouring techniques that are on trend for the season.

Specialty:
I specialize in creating beautiful blondes, creative cutting, and styling. I absolutely love watching retro and classic updo's as well as up and coming hair trends.

My Hairdressing History:
I’ve been very lucky to be part of The Hairdresser Team since 2019, completing my training at the Premiere Institute of Education. I’ve also worked with L’Oréal and Kerastase and completed many educational courses with them.

What I enjoy about Hairdressing:
I love meeting new people and helping to create the best version of you possible – be it with fresh colour, a restyled cut, perm, straightening or anything in between.

I love transforming! I also really enjoying scrolling Pinterest, TikTok and Instagram to get fun new ideas and trends for all my clients.

Specialty:
I love a bit of everything, but my specialty is all things colour. I love crafting a personalised colour for each of my clients. I also love relaxing my clients with a beautiful head massage.

My Hairdressing History
With Michelle, I have been the other driving force behind The Hairdresser for over 10 years. My background comes from a business and HR background. I gained a Master of Commerce from the University of Auckland in 2019. I love being able to apply this to the hairdressing industry and The Hairdresser team.

What I enjoy about Hairdressing:
I love to inspire the team and work to develop a great team culture within the salons. I also enjoy fronting the house and catching up with all our lovely clientele.

I am a master of The Hairdresser’s appointment book! Any queries, changes, or specific requirements, I am happy to help!

My Hairdressing History
This year I started my apprenticeship with Hito and The Hairdresser Mairangi Bay team. I also go to Premiere Institute of Technology during off-job training.

What I enjoy about Hairdressing:
I enjoy meeting new people and helping them relax at the basin chair with good shampoo and a quality massage. I love learning about colour and applying it to our lovely clients. I have learned so much already from my team and am very excited to keep learning more over the next few years

Specialty
Looking after all our clients when they come to the Mairangi Bay salon so that they can just relax and feel pampered.

I have 20 years experience; I trained in the UK and moved to New Zealand 14 years ago. I’ve had amazing experiences working in the industry such as working on cruise ships and fashion week.

What I enjoy about Hairdressing:
I love that hairdressing is so varied and I’m constantly learning new things. I love making people feel amazing about themselves. We are lucky to work with top brands like Kerastase and L’Oreal.

I love variety – cutting, colour and styling. Also doing a transformation is a lot of fun. I love it all.

Originally from Egypt. I’ve had around 15 years’ of experience in the hair and beauty field in New Zealand and overseas. Having been hairdressing for well over a decade, I’ve been observing human trends and fashion not only in salon but also from a diverse and innovative creative intake.

What I enjoy about Hairdressing:
My true enthusiasm and desire in understanding what suits my clients' whole image and lifestyle.  My philosophy is that I want my precious guests to look and feel great not only when they leave the hair salon, but also when they return, to their next appointment with me.

I have a great passion to offer a wide range of services to my clients'; I love to change up hair color, French balayage, undertake colour transformation does as well haircuts, refresh a look or create a hair style for a special occasion.

I joined the Hairdresser Milford team in 2022 as part of my Hito apprenticeship. I’m currently in my second year of my apprenticeship, where I have trained with Kerastase, L’Oreal and Keune.

What I enjoy about Hairdressing:
I love that it is so creative! I’m very excited about advancing my cutting skills and creative colour work. I’m so excited to learn creative cutting techniques as part of the next step in my training.

I love a bit of everything! I’m all about fashion colours, up-dos and creative work.

I enjoy being in the salon, helping the team and catering to clients needs. I love watching and learning about the hair transformations that go on in the salon. I also really enjoy applying colour.

I do a great shampoo at the basin, where I can almost get my client to fall asleep. I also can make a delicious coffee or cuppa tea!
